Step by Step Shooting Mechanics

Shooting Mechanics is the step-by-step course that teaches young water polo players (especially ages 10–15) how to build a strong, accurate shot the right way—before bad habits get locked in.

Here’s the reality: every time you take a bad shot, your body learns the wrong pattern. To fix it, you need 3 correct reps just to get back to zero—and 4+ correct reps to actually make progress. That’s why shooting mechanics must be mastered early.

Inside this course you’ll learn:

  • How shooting mechanics build on proper body position

  • The #1 mistake that kills power and accuracy: pushing the ball with the elbow down

  • The key cue: elbow above the ear line

  • How to release up-to-down (snap and finish, don’t push)

  • Dryland drills to groove the correct pattern

  • In-water progressions so you can apply it immediately in practice

By the end, you’ll have a clear checklist and routine you can repeat every week so your shot gets stronger, cleaner, and more consistent.
