If your body position is wrong, nothing else in water polo works. In this course we strip everything back and build the perfect shooting base without even using a ball.

You’ll learn how to place your legs, hips and upper body so you’re stable, explosive and always ready to shoot or pass. We start in a simple vertical position: hips underneath your body, front leg and back leg split for balance, and the non-shooting arm “locked” and sculling for constant stability. From there we add controlled turns, so you can rotate around your axis without losing height or balance.

Once this base is automatic, we introduce the shooting arm. You’ll practice getting the elbow above the ear line every time so the ball (or “pizza” in this drill) stays in front of you and your shoulder is safe and powerful. The idea is simple: first master the pose without the ball, then later you just “drop” the ball into the same perfect position and your shot becomes smooth and repeatable.

By the end of this course you will:

  • Know exactly where your legs, hips and shoulders should be for a strong body position

  • Stay high and stable in the water without a ball

  • Rotate and change angles without losing balance

  • Automatically lift your arm with the correct elbow position for safe, powerful shooting

  • Be ready to add the ball and transfer this position into real game situations

Start here before you touch the ball—this is the foundation for every pass and every shot you’ll take in water polo.
